WE DID IT!
Set in the near future, WE DID IT! follows a figure on stage who guides us along the paths traveled together with their contemporaries in order to overcome some of the crises that today threaten the permanence of life on Earth.
Playing with the interferences between real events, feasible possibilities, and experiences that until now have only been imaginable, the performance becomes a hypothetical documentary aimed at dismantling the TINA Paradigm (There Is No Alternative), sharing scenarios in which people have developed more harmonious relationships with one another and with the other beings inhabiting the Earth. NOME DA PREZIOSA: ALCRA
by and with Fiorenza Menni
Nome da preziosa: Alcra is a performative offshoot of Armande sono io!, the first work in the diptych that Ateliersi is dedicating to Carla Lonzi, to be followed by Taci, anzi parla (Be Quiet, Rather Speak), based on the author’s extensive diaries.
The performance takes shape from Lonzi’s final research on the movement of the Précieuses—which emerged in France in the mid-seventeenth century—and its relationship to Molière’s plays Les Précieuses ridicules and Les Femmes Savantes.
Lonzi recognizes in the experience of the Précieuses a key point of reference for the women’s movement: “I found myself following the trail of the Précieuses,” she writes, “and discovered that we shared two extremely important elements: the affirmation of our own eroticism and the self-investment of judgment […]. They made me think of consciousness-raising; a multitude of coincidences astonished me. I feel many of their aspects, many of their traits, as my own. I think of the sense of the group as the bearer of a new culture shaped by women’s contribution.”
